Hi, welcome to my new blog. Six months ago my world brightened immensely. I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl. Like most mummy’s I have made it my mission to try and ensure my little one is as happy and healthy as possible. On a daily basis I make sure she is getting lots of stimulation with classes, outings and at home activities. I know that learning through play helps babies and young children grow and develop.
Having worked in education for over 10 years as a teacher, early years educator and a science technician means I have lots of experience providing activities for all different age groups. I’ve worked in both nursery, primary and secondary school.
When my baby girl was 3 months old, I decided to join a baby sensory class. I could see how much she loved the classes and so I decided to do extra baby sensory activities with her at home.
I try to do an activity a day. Even very simple activities like blowing some bubbles for her, reading or singing songs are great.
Last month I created a fb group and an Instagram account called Mumchum_Club. I share my weaning journey, product reviews and baby sensory play ideas on my Instagram. The fb group is a friendly space where parents can seek advice from one another or share ideas.
Anyway that’s enough waffle about me! Here is one activity that I have recently shared on my Instagram feed:
Dancing Pea’s Tummy Time Activity

You will need:
- ziplock bag x1
- Pea’s
- Water
- Tray (optional)
- Tape (stronger the better)
The method is simple. Fill the bag 1/3 with water and the pea’s. Remove any air and close the bag, securing with tape. Lastly, tape the bag down onto a hard surface or on a tray.
My baby girl loved batting and stroking the bag to watch the pea’s dance about in the water. After her tummy time, she also loved stomping on them with her feet!
This activity has been very popular on my Instagram. Give it a go, your baby will love it.
I will be posting more activities on the blog soon. Make sure you’re following.
